i think there's a country song entitled "still clueless after all these years" get a life away from the track and it won't be such a big deal.

you know scott.. a lot of people actually like to go to a race on saturday nights and that is their life in the summer and they are disappointed when a race gets cancelled. I can't even believe you said that but i would like to say that it def did look like rain tonight and i figured that they would cancel eventually. It is to bad it didn't rain until so late but that is the way it is. But please don't say stuff like that to people. They do have a life, people just wanna go watch racing. I know I was looking forward to seeing some racing tonight as well as every other week.

yes most people do but they sure act like they don't. hey the weatherman was wrong. charlie made a decision based on expert advice and past experience. he made the RIGHT call for HIM and HIS business. do i agree with it, this time yes but it really doesn't matter if i do or not cause me nor anyone else has a risk in making that decision.

Scott, You know I just think it's funny that you can come on this board and say whatever you want and you could on the Groves too but anytime anyone said something you didn't like, LOCK & BANNED!!! HMMMMMM

because apparently here and the WG board it's allowed by the moderators or the management of the place the board represents. on the SG board it is not allowed by management. i never said i don't agree with a lot of the stuff that gets deleted, just that i have no choice but to delete it. there is a BIG difference.

I never said charlie didn't make the right call. I agree with it I was just upset how you lashed out at someone and say they don't have a life bc they were a little upset it didn't rain yet.

everyone should have a life away from the track just in case. btw it did rain so we'd have all been sent home not seeing a feature. blame the weathermen. they said it was going to rain at 6 with thunderstorms at 10. they missed by 4 hours and they are the experts so what's a promoter to do. btw nice column in the daily item dailyitem.com/0200_sports/x433572764/Shawn-Brouses-View-from-the-PIts-column-The-times-they-are-a-changin. the author's never been afraid to call out SG in the past but he understands that the promoter has more to lose.

I really have to laugh! You are so full of BS it isn't funny. IF I was in the position of making the descisions for the good of the speedway, I would take into the consideration what the weather man says, but I would not bank on his(or her) forecasts! The speedway does not benefit at all by having the doors closed on a sunny day. Why can't they have a plan in place to shorten the program in poor weather situations. Such as foregoing warm-ups, shortening engine starts, etc. Now days there are so many avenues for people to spend their entertainment dollar, I would not want to give them other ideas and risk them not coming back!

laugh or don't laugh all you want. you have 0 facts and no idea what goes into making such a decision and especially you have NO vested interest. when the radar shows a green blob approaching at 3pm and the weatherman says it will rain at 6pm how do you shorten the show? don't bank on their forecasts? then you'd never cancel until it actually rained...not a good policy. i agree, closing the door on a sunny day does not make money for the track BUT the decision has to be made by 3pm to keep the guys traveling from wasting a trip. everyone knows what the fans lose...a night of entertainment and that's it. with the early cancellation there's no loss of travel expenses or a waste of their time. how many fans realize what the promoter loses when he races with a short field and half empty stands? you can say all you want....he wouldn't lose....you don't know that. or the absolutely crazy quote "he wouldn't lose that much". the key word is LOSE. i just don't understand why a select few can not see both sides of this deal and understand it. what's really funny is that PR and WG cancelled and no one is upset. it did eventually rain and they never would have gotten the night in. lincoln got everyone to travel their and then sent them home in the middle of the night. who made the better call? get all the facts, then think with you brain, not your heart. 99% of you have no idea what goes into the decision to cancel. i know for a fact he checks with several of his key people, monitors the weather AND talks to several of the race teams before making the call. i've seen him struggle to make the call because it is a tuff call to make. i can gaurantee you that every fan would make the same call 99% of the time given the same information he has IF IT'S YOUR CHECKBOOK ON THE LINE.
everyone wants factual information from the speedway and that's what i try to give and then take nothing but crap for it. maybe i'll just let it revert back to the last guy that posted factual information from the speedway....

If you think teams dont start leaving before 3 your definitely mistaking. What about Scott Flammer, Davie Franek etc... they are from NJ and can assure they dont wait until 3 to leave for the track.

really, you've talked to them?. you're probably correct and i would agree they would have to. you are not gonna catch everyone but by cancelling by 3 pm you can probably catch 85 percent before they leave home and with our notification setup it should catch the other 15 percent before they get too far in. gates open at 5 with hot laps at 6:30. he could cancel at noon but he waits as long as he can before he inconveniences the teams and the fans. see he even takes you into consideration. i know it's not a big deal for you because you live within 5 miles of the place but a lot of fans travel from an hour or more. read shawn brouses column. when the media understands it's time for everyone to understand.

I wasn't really happy about the cancellation either as I yearn for Friday and Saturday to get here every week to get my fill of dirt but lets face it guys. It was the right call and it was made early enough to allow other teams that if they wanted to travel somewhere else where it wasn't raining to go racing they could; same as the fans. I don't often agree with the tracks decisions as Scott I'm sure would tell you but I had looked at the radar all morning saturday and I just knew it wasn't going to happen. There was a green and yellow blob from erie all the way to pittsburgh around 4-4:30. I just reset my timer and hope for better weather next week. LETS GO RACING!!!
