IMCA Mods at Clinton County ;D ;D
Mackeyville, PA – With 2011 officially in the books Clinton County Raceway is eagerly looking ahead to 2012. A lot of behind the scenes changes have already taken place with many more to follow in the coming months. With the cost of everything skyrocketing, most of the focus going into 2012 will be cost cutting for the track, teams, and fans. With that being said, one major change will be in the Sprint Car division. Starting in 2012 Clinton County Raceway will change from a 410 to a 305 Sprint Car facility. The 305’s have competed at the track for the last few seasons as a touring series with great reviews and the track is looking to build upon that. The 305’s will fall under the rules for the Racesaver 305 Series and will have series coordinator Tom Worrick in the fold to help with Tech and procedures. The plan is to race the 305’s on an every other week basis, which will allow teams to travel with the series as well as compete for a track championship.
Clinton County Raceway is also proud to announce the addition of a new class for 2012. IMCA Modifies will make their racing debut when the season kicks off next year. IMCA has a long-standing tradition of being a competitive yet more affordable form of racing. The IMCA division is one that has come from a year of planning as many teams have been looking for a division with lower costs, easier tech, and one that can travel if desired. Many teams have already committed to this division for next season and CCR looks to build this into one of the premier classes in the area.
One other change you may notice is the Clinton County website. A lot of upgrading has been going on with the site which will hopefully give it a fresh new look along with make it easier to navigate.
