Depends how quick you want to race. If you are looking to start next year, there will be several real good roadrunners coming up for sale at the end of the year. If you purchase one of them, I'm sure the previous owner would share information with you.

Well I guess that would all depend on where you are from and how far you want to travel to race. Right now Clinton is the only area track running them (imca).

heavychevy I think roadrunners Is a great place to start, like livingthedream said there will be some race ready cars for sale,or if you want to build your own,get a pitt pass at selinsgrove speedway and just talk to some of the drivers and tell them what you want to do they will be very helpful.and remember if you build your own do not skimp on the rollcage, that is your life saver!!!!!! This whole IMCA thing I just dunno about it,its an awfull lot of money to invest for 300.00 to win,I know people are going to say everyone has to run the same tire compound and it keeps the playing field level,im not buying into that. And if you build a roed runner you can come to ccr and run with the pro stocks you wont win but atleast you can get seat time, imca you are either at ccr or make the drag to NY,eitherway I wish you luck in what ever class you decide to run.

Before you jump to buy a roadrunner for Selinsgrove wait till the new rules are posted for next season. Rumor has it there are going to be quite a few changes hate to see you spend your money for a car then have to spend more to make it legal.

This whole IMCA thing I just dunno about it,its an awfull lot of money to invest for 300.00 to win,. Our payout is better than Pro Stocks. All in all cost for both divisions is pretty equal. Yes, there are some pretty high dollar IMCA's out there, as well as some pretty high dollar Pro Stocks. The difference is, the lower dollar IMCA's are more competitive than the lower dollar Pro Stocks. Weekly operating cost is where the savings are. I realize I am comparing IMCA and Pro Stock on a thread about cost of a road runner, but, that was in response to the above $$$ spent vs Payout post. Whichever way you go, the first thing you have to realize is, racing isn't cheap. If your plan is to race anything but a FWD you need to be prepared to spend $8000 - $10,000 a year minimum.
