There are too many teams making too many excuses in this division! Concentrate on your program and don't worry about the other teams stuff and you will be better! Thats pretty easy to say from your seat in the grandstand. Have you seen any of these new cars up close?? I doubt it. It's just like back in the early 80's when you had guys still running stock frame cars against the "new" tube frame late models. You eventually have 2 choices, buy one and keep up with everyone else or quit racing. You can do all the "Homework" in the world, you are not going to get a stock frame car to compete with a car that has the front end fabricated to allow everything in the optimum place for optimum performance. I am willing to bet EVERY RACE at Selinsgrove this year will be won by one of these new style cars. Now lets talk about safety, these cars ARE NOT SAFE. They are round tube late models with 22 gauge sheet metal scabbed around the round tube to make it 2x3 legal. These chassis are fine for a 2000 pound late model, but they are simply not strong enough to be safe in a crash at 3000 pounds. If this is what they want to turn the class into then drop the weight limit to 2500 and have a 2800 maximum weight. There are guys that have as much as 500 pounds strapped to there car just to be legal.

Why do you assume that I sit in the grandstand? Totally opposite! When I am at the track I am in the trenches! Yes, I have seen these cars and rather close up! All you guys are a bunch of whiners. Somebody gets something new and you are ready to throw in the towel. Yeah, you might be at a disadvantage, but it is nothing that you can't over come with a little work. Oh, that's right you probably don't work on your car until the day of the races. What kind of car do you have? Have you made any changes to the geometries? If these guys can change their front ends so can you! Get to work and stop finding excuses!

It has nothing to do with these cars being something new. It has everything to do with them not being pro stocks. They are late models with sheet metal tac welded around the tube to make it 2x3 as prostocksrock said. I have seen one of these without a body close up. Also, how many strut cars have leaf springs? All these changes they are doing costs money. The Pro stock division is suppose to be an entry level class. In the Danville daily item or some daily item I read people are spending $15,000 just on there motors and probably more. That is not entry level. So I don't know who you are or if you race but if you wanna spend the money go ahead but we won't be spending the money to build a car that isn't even legal to begin with.
Not that it even matters because they wouldn't do anything to the cars anyway but when is the last time they have teched the pro stocks? I know they haven't looked at mine. Two years ago they teched in the beginning of the year and we had to change our body along with a couple other cars so we did. Later that year other cars showed up with their bodies the same way we had ours and was anything done? No. I came back this year with the body the same way it was when they made us change it and the rule is still in the rules and have they told us to change it? Nope! Not that I really give a crap anymore because we won't be back. We are going to clinton county to race. Idk how they are for sure about enforcing their rules but we have talked to a few people and they said they are trying to keep the class within the rules so hey that is more than selinsgrove is doing.

Agreed Cody, but, it's nothing new, I saw it happen with Semi Lates and with Thunder Cars, what happened to those classes?? Some of those cars are running as Pro Stocks now, problem is even they are obsolete. The writing is on the wall, I'd say within the next year or 2 that class will be dropped and they will start all over again from scratch or go with Crate Late models or something like that. I chose to get out while my car was still worth something and I could put the money towards something else. I went with an IMCA modified because it made the best sense to me. Same amount of money in the car, national set of rules that are striclty enforced, tires that will last more than just a race or two, and theres ten tracks within a 2 hour drive from me that I can choose to go to on any given weekend.

prostock64, quit bitchin about rules already , your car will be good at clinton, go to practice with a stop watch , make some changes (seat of your pants technique doesnt work that well ) just remember a stock metric chassis car won there last year , not because it had an aluminum body, floater rear or huge hp

LOL.. Yeah, hardly stock.. I had a hand in designing and building that car. It's a Camaro clip with all after market Howe Suspension. Rear is a VERY adjustable 4 link that can also be run as a 3 link. We tried to find a part on the car that wasn't aftermarket and the only thing we came up with is the steering box..LOL

Well, was there any rule pushing at SG this week? Seems like some of the other teams had some good runs this time.

There is always rule pushing at SG in the PS division. There are about 8 illegal cars there... yeah yeah, i know they were okayed by the promoter, but the cars do not follow the rules. Therefore, they are illegal. and there are several others that are being built for the current year... so yes, there was and will be rule BREAKING until something is done... obviously can't go back on the previous rules, so they better fix the problem b4 too many other people get involved... b/c any people interested in getting started are going to go to the rules... and they will be screwed b/c they won't have a chance!
