This is Kyle Bachman... I would like at least explain my side of the story. Last week I went into A&A Auto Parts in Selinsgrove to purchase a new tire. I was told the old tires are no longer available. Hoosier will now be making a replacement with the exact same design and tread and compound. Except for it has a different sidewall. I asked if it was legal. They told me there is no choice. From now on, this will be the only tire available. It was the same story with A&A out of Williamsport. Miller racing Parts (the track retailer) was the same story. Still, being a little skeptical, I approached the new tech man and showed him the tire, He said. We have to see what Charlie says". So I took a crew member with me and we went into Charlies office. I asked him if the tire was ok because I couldnt find any others and according to Hoosier, they will all be the same from here on in. Charlie said YES... Its ok. I said to Charlie and I quote myself " Charlie...its the Prostock 20, I dont want to bolt a tire on that I am gonna be thrown out for". He said its ok! I then went and talked to Todd Long to triple check myself. Todd told me he spoke to him and got the same answer! So.. I bolted the tire on, finish the race and told I was DQ'D. So you tell me.....was i in the wrong? was i illegal?? Kyle

This is Troy Miller, Shauns dad. Kyle we are not saying this if your fault or that you did it on purpose. Todd Long as well. But the rules are rules, and this just goes to show how crooked this track is!!!!! After you approached Charlie and told him about this new tire - why was it not brought up at the drivers meeting, letting all the other drivers know about it, so that maybe if they wanted to they could as well go purchase the new tire for the big race!!! I did not find out about the tire until Friday night myself, and we did not purchase it because it was not the correct part number and we did not want to be Dq'd for it. So, I went and purchased the old style tire which YOU CAN still purchase at the same A&A store you and Todd bought yours. As for the Miller parts truck they showed up with a whole truck load of the new tires but still NOTHING was mentioned to Charlie or any other drivers!!!!! This whole thing would have never happened also if Hoosier would have contacted Charlie. And in NO WAY am I sticking up for Charlie - cause what he did last night was uncalled for to every Prostock Driver there . But for our point and my SONS - rules are rules and they should have been followed. The part number for the rules is listed in the tire section and nowhere did they change it or will you find the part number 31-156 which is the tire you and todd had on your cars. So this is where the problem was!!!! You were illegal from what the rules say, but your also right you werent illegal as to what the track owner told you. Again, NOT fair. Also, from my understanding someone called charlie last week and was told they werent allowed to run that tire cause it was not legal!!! You cant tell 2 drivers it is okay to run and others that it isnt then take the win from Hoffman announce it to the crowd and put it on the live updates, then at the end of the night overturn it again - I think Charlie owes hoffman and shaun $1000 - It is listed shaun as the winner on the live updates and on the homeage Hoffman, so hmmmmmmm who did win? This isnt the way I would want Shaun to win a big race but rules are rules and as we seen ove the years, they make up rules for certain people. This is why the prostock division is the way it is. Its a shame for these racers, but after last night I hope they all do go somewhere else. I have been racing for 22 years and loved this track the best, but enough is enough already! Shaun does not want to run there anymore and i dont blame him, me I like running the late model there, but oh well I will go where my son goes theres alot of tracks that run late models and prostocks. and like someone else said on here people need to LEAVE to show them and stick up for themselves and all they put into there racecars. Go somewhere where they at least tech the cars and stick to there word!!!!!! It made Kyle, Hoffman, Shaun and tech guys look bad - they told Shaun at the scale to take his car up to the gate that he was the winner!!!!!! The way the situation was handled was totally shameful on the tracks part.

And your point is? Do a little bit of comparing with the rules and that sheet of paper which I had lastnight. Where in the rules does it say you can run a part # of 36156 27.5/8.0-15 NRM it doesnt. If we were aloud to run these it shouldn't be the drivers discretion to find out it the tracks to come to us and say this is the new tire you can't get the old ones after they are all gone.

Why are these tires an option? Do the prostocks need new tires? I think the answer for a couple of years has been run the hard tire. What ever happened to the D30, they were discontinued but that does not mean these tracks had to go to a EMod Medium, go to the hard. I dont think it would be it would be an engineering feat to spend $300 on a durometer and punch tires as they roll across the scales. It would not take long to find the manufacturers limits, if they would not specify initially. At least then when teching you dont need to be tearing down the cars like you never do.

The way the situation was handled was totally shameful on the tracks part. from what I personally witnessed last night was a car owner desperate to take a thousand bucks and run with it on a technicality. period. one you thought you could make work to your advantage, but guess what it backfired. you admitted you knew about the tire Friday night, why didn't you ask charlie about it then? the 22 years of racing you talk about should have told you if its a "better" tire for whatever reason(s) other guys are going to want to run it for the biggest race of the season in the class. it doesn't matter what number is on the tire, if its a direct replacement for that tire and made from Hoosier and you knew that info Friday night, why wouldn't you ask charlie before or someone before the races even started?? sounds like not only Hoosier is to blame for not notify charlie but maybe your pissed at yourself and your 22 years of racing for not asking about the tire until after you got beat with the tire. as far as the tech guy(s) go from what i witnessed last night it looked like the cars were given a pretty good look over before the races started and they went through aj's car front, rear again and had the motor apart and found nothing. as far as you and you son going to port. good luck!

Of Course I knew it was a better tire - I chose not to buy it because it was not in the rules. Of course when the rules were changed and ALL drivers were notified then I would have bought some. I Am not going to argue with people on here that hide behind a screen name. I was answering Kyle who also did not hide behind a screen name. I am sorry Thunderman where in my post did is say they should of told me about a better tire?

If you have any questions or any other personal interest in our car, owners or anything feel free to call me Troy Miller - 570-985-4814 :-) We have nothing to hide and will not hide behind a screen name as stated above. I am not Shauns car owner, he is, I am his Father, and if somone wouldnt stick up for there son they have a problem!!! Rules are Rules its in black and white - and I could see if if was a back runner or someone else winning with those tires then it would be a different story. So you cant tell me if Aj wouldnt have won and someone else did, they would be arguing as well. This could go on and on and on and people arguing, and stating there opinions.

Shauns car sounded like it was banging maybe a carburetor problem? If it would've been running perfect I bet he would've had something for those 2.
